What requirements are necessary to purchase a startup ticket?
Start-ups are newly emerged, fast-growing companies with innovative business ideas (often in the field of electronic business, communication technology or life sciences). Basically, we would like to give start-ups the opportunity to participate in the RuhrSummit regardless of their current phase. The quality, not the start-up state, is decisive here. You therefore score points above all with clear ideas and a recognizable USP.
What’s in the Startup-Ticket?
You will receive the Startup-Ticket for free after you applied successfully. It includes the following:
- 1 Startup ticket for a maximum of 4 persons
- Conference incl. Workshops
- Meet@Beat Party
- optional participation in the Startup Expo (application form)
- optional participation in the pitch competition (application form)
- Match Making
- Deep Dives
How do I get a Startup-Ticket and what does it cost?
The Startup-Ticket is free and will be send to you via email if you applied successfully. You have time to apply until one month before the event. You can apply here. We wish you good luck!
How many people can participate in the event with one Startup-Ticket?
Up to four founders can participate in the RuhrSummit 2018. Please list all participants during the application process.
I just want to come for one day. Are there discounts?
All Tickets are valid for both days of the event and all their content. It is not possible to book components separately, for example just one day or a sub-event.
What workshops will take place and when?
All information about the offered workshops can be found on the agenda. Please note that, up until the event starts, these are subject to change. It’s worth checking it out occasionally.
How can I sign up for the Match-Making-Sessions?
The Startup Ticket automatically allows you to participate in the Match Making. This year our new Match Making App comes into use. It offers you the possibility to choose your conversation partners and times in advance. But it’s all about “being quick”, because other interested participants also want to save themselves a place at the match making table.

How do I apply for the Pitch Competition?
During the application process for a free startup ticket you can apply for participation in the Pitch Competition. You have until 23.09.2018 to do so. Show us why you have to participate in the pitch and why we should choose you for one of the more than 30 highly coveted places in the qualification. If you have qualified successfully, we will inform you by email about the next steps. You will be informed by 02.10.2018 whether you will be a part of it! All participants will also be announced via FB, Instagram and Twitter!
Can I apply for the Pitch Competition after I already completed the sign-up?
Yes. Please send us a mail at startups@summit.ruhr before 23.09.2018 with the following information:
- Name of the startup
- Date of the application
However, please consider carefully at the registration process if you want to take part in the Match-Making of not, so we can guarantee that the Match-Making goes smooth.
Have I been selected to participate in the Pitch Competition? When will I get informed?
If you have convinced us and thus successfully qualified for the Pitch Competition, we will inform you about the further process by email until 02.10.2018.

As a highlight and finale of the RuhrSummit we will then see the best six startups and finally a beaming winner on the big stage (pitch in English) who will take home the prize money of 5000 Euro!

Is it possible to rent a booth at the RuhrSummit?
In 2018 we offer you the possibility to secure your booths at the RuhrSummit for the first time! At the StartupExpo you have the chance to introduce yourself to the big audience! Simply apply for a free Startup-Ticket and indicate in the application process that you would like to have a booth. The number of booths is limited, so don’t wait too long! Our team will email you to let you know if you are one of the lucky chosen ones.

What are the requirements for purchasing a participant / student ticket?
Unless you are a startup, student, investor or company, the participant ticket is the right thing for you. As a registered student, you can purchase the discounted student ticket. Please register with your college email address to identify yourself as a student.

What parking facilities are available?
The Jahrhunderthalle in Bochum has a large public car park. Coming from the A40, follow the parking symbol “Jahrhunderthalle Bochum”. Walking from there, you will reach the Jahrhunderthalle in about three minutes.
