Innovative start-ups are heading to Berlin. Or to the ‘City of Cities’.

Ruhr Metropolis continues to be a strong economic center for many decades now. Our companies, including corporations such as Evonik, RWE, Innogy and thyssenkrupp, are among the businesses that generate the highest turnover in Germany and Europe. Many SMEs and start-ups from the Ruhr Metropolis like Wilo, Opta Data, Materna, or G-Data with their innovative, digital technologies are world market leaders.

RuhrSummit as well as many other regional initiatives help building a start-up community and maintaining the dynamics of the past three years.

For good reason start-ups are increasingly opting to establish their businesses here: They benefit from a huge pool of talents – there are almost 20 higher education establishments with more than 280.000 students in the region – and versatile office capacities, not just in a single city.
